Bryant Skopek
Born and raised in a small town of rural Connecticut, Bryant Skopek is a Boston-based installation artist and a graduate student at the School Museum of Fine Art at Tufts. He also received an Associate degree in graphic design at Quinebaug Valley Community College and a Bachelor of Fine Art in the concentration of sculpture at Montserrat College of Art.
Despite being an artist, Skopek has worked in the field of commercial glass installation. This experience contributed to his interest in the luminous relationship between light and reflections on specific surfaces. By incorporating highly reflective and transcendent materials, he creates atmospheric installations and sculptures in the hope of sparking a conversation on multiple concepts of trauma, anxiety as well as re-define the idea of a “broken” individual.

Broken Masculinity
Broken Masculinity asks the audience to reflect on concepts of trauma, anxiety, and re-define the idea of a “broken” individual. Crafted from glass and monofilament that has high reflective properties, the work interacts with light to conjure a space of self-reflection with a broken aesthetic.
